The day Naz and I had a ‘little’ scare in Beijing…
So it was our last day in Beijing. We were set for Korea early the next day (we’re talking like waking up at 4am early- our flight was at 8am and it took about an hour to taxi to the airport), and we had planned our day accordingly. We were leaving the hostel that day at 8:30am to go to the Great Wall. The tour we joined promised us back at around 5pm, after which he had planned to SHOWER, then to get ready and finish packing all our stuff. We had planned most things because our friend Ben was picking us up from the airport in Korea and taking us to his house in Korea to meet his parents, meaning we had to look presentable. Anyhow, we get back from hiking the Great Wall and we’re sweaty and smelly and just straight up nasty so the only thing we’re thinking about is how we’re going to take really long showers. We get back to the hostel and all the lights are off inside. Weird. We ask the front desk and apparently there was a power outage. Okay. No big deal. They seemed pretty calm so we didn’t freak out
yet.
